Holofit Urinfect from Equisalud is a food supplement that combines three very effective plants in urinary tract infections. It is indicated in recurrent cystitis.
Properties of the active ingredients:
Bearberry is, without a doubt, the best plant to treat recurrent cystitis, having been used since ancient times for these purposes. Its action is due to the hydroquinonic heteroside contained in arbutoside. It has a proven antibacterial action of the urinary tract, as well as a diuretic action, studied in many experiences and trials. Arbutoside is a very specific antimicrobial for the urinary tract. It is hydrolyzed in the intestine by the action of intestinal bacteria, giving rise to hydroquinone, which is eliminated through the kidneys, in the form of sulfate and glucuronic acid. The hibiscus, also called Jamaica Rose, is native to Egypt, although it is already cultivated in many places around the world. It is a plant very rich in vitamin C, with a high content in its flowers, which is the most active part and the one normally used. It belongs to the Malvaceae family. It is used as a refreshing drink made from the flowers in many parts of the world and in different forms. It contains vitamin C, many acids such as citric, malic or tartaric. Rich in anthocyanins and other polyphenols, such as quercetin and many others. It is also rich in mucilaginous polysaccharides and pectins (arabinogalactans) and essential oils. Its actions are multiple, covering a wide therapeutic range. In this case, its antibacterial, diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties have been taken into account, applied to urinary tract infections.
American cranberry has been extensively studied in various double-blind trials, having demonstrated its indisputable effectiveness in infectious conditions of the bladder, cystitis (chronic, relapsing and acute). 50% of women suffer from this infection at some point in their lives and 25% of women suffer from recurrent cystitis. These infections are normally caused by the Escherichia coli bacteria, which adheres to the walls of the urinary tract through the so-called fimbriae, cilia-like extensions that help it attach. Due to the presence of an active principle, type tannin, called type A protoanthocyanidins, cranberry is capable of attacking the fimbriae of the bacteria and preventing their attachment to the uropithelial cells of the urinary tract wall, these being eliminated without can act and cause infection. It has been shown that after taking cranberry, leukocytes and the number of bacteria in urine decrease, which shows that it gives way to infection. In the urinary tract it exists naturally as a glycoprotein, called Tamms-Horsfall glycoprotein, which has been found to be low in people with urinary tract infections. It is known that this glycoprotein, along with various glycosaminoglycans, contributes to the health of the urinary tract by preventing bacteria from attaching to the walls. This same action is what the red cranberry carries out.
Instructions for use: Take 2 capsules a day, for at least 15 days, or as directed by a specialist.
Recommended daily amount: 2 capsules per day.
